There are many MLM companies today. Some of them are legit companies. They offer true products and services. They offer a true business opportunity. However, not all MLM companies you meet are legit. There are companies who will deceive you just to make money from you. How to not fall a victim of MLM scam? Watch out for the following signs:
• No products and/or services – A legit MLM business has high-quality products and/or services. If the company won’t be able to provide products and services and mainly focus on recruiting people, then consider it a red flag. A legit business should have genuine products offered to end consumers. Recruitment is a part of the MLM business, but the primary income should be based on goods sold and not mainly on recruitment.
• Unfounded product claims – A legit business is founded on quality products. If the company offers too good to be true claims, then consider it a red flag. Nobody wants to be associated with a company that offers faulty products.
• High-pressure sales technique – Many companies used high-pressure sales tactics, which is actually pretty good, especially if you are the go-getter type. More than the sales tactic, you have to check the track record of the company. Choose a company that has been around for 20 years. This simply goes to show that the company is a trusted one. There are a few highly reputable start-up companies. But if you are going to join an MLM business, you surely would want a company that has a very good track record.
• Too expensive sign-up cost – Joining an MLM business would require you a sign-up fee. Consider it as your investment. If you join MLM business, you automatically become an independent business owner. In other words, you become a business owner. As with any types of business, you will need a capital. The only difference is that a legit MLM business would require a reasonable capital unlike the conventional business wherein you will need a huge capital. If the MLM business you are eyeing to join requires a huge sign-up fee, then you should start to doubt the legitimacy of the company.
• Poor communication – Before joining the company, make sure you ask all pertinent questions including hard questions. A legit company won’t have a hard time answering all your queries. If the company can’t give you answers or you feel like the company is holding some information, then consider it a red flag.
• Poor BBB (Better Business Bureau) rating – Choose a company that has a very good BBB rating. By checking with the BBB, you will be able to find out if there are complaints filed and how the company dealt with those complaints.
If there are complaints filed and the company is doing the best it can to fix the problems, then that’s a good sign. However, if the company disregarded the complaints filed against them, then that’s a red flag.
A multi-level marketing business is extremely popular today. It has helped thousands if not millions of people achieve financial freedom. However, the success in MLM starts with choosing the best company. Just because the company claims that it is the best does not necessarily mean that it is truly the best. You need to do your research.
You surely don’t want to be associated with companies involved in the pyramiding scheme.
One of the most highly reputable MLM companies today is ACN Inc. It stands for the American Communications Network, which is the leading provider telecommunications products and services. It has been in the industry for over two decades and has a BBB+ rating. It operates in 25 countries in various parts of the world. Joining MLM is probably one of the best decisions you can ever make. It will open doors to big opportunities. If you work hard and smart, you will be able to achieve time and financial freedom.
